Frequently Asked Questions

Why/when should I get my machine tuned up?

Having regular maintenance done on your small engine is key to preventing larger problems down the road. Similar to why you don’t wait for your car to completely break down to get an oil change (or at least we hope you don’t), a tune-up will ensure problems are caught early, any worn/broken parts are replaced, and your engine will work for years to come.

What if my machine needs more than a tune-up?

Our full tune-up is a perfect fit for the majority of our clients, however we do offer replacement parts and services if we notice something on your engine is damaged or worn. We will always call you to confirm before performing any extra work, and you can check out replacement parts we offer in the chart above. In some instances, we’ll schedule a house call to perform more in-depth work on your small engine.

What small engines do you work on? (Mowers, snowblowers, etc?)

We are happy to work on any small engines you have! This includes:

  • Lawnmowers
  • Snowblowers
  • Weedwackers
  • Chainsaws
  • Pressure Washers
  • Compressors
  • Pumps

We are able to work on dual stage engines only if the engine starts (even if it sputters and stops). If you have a dual stage that is completely dead, you’ll likely need a new carburetor which unfortunately are largely out of stock right now. If you have a specific question for one of your machines, please reach out to us at info@curbsidesmallengine.com

Do you service riding lawnmowers?

Yes we do! Due to the more intensive nature of the work, we do charge our regular tune-up fee, plus $60 as well as our $30 travel fee (as we only perform riding lawnmower tune-ups at your residence).

How long will the tune-up take?

During our pop-up, our mechanics are able to complete a tune-up in about 45 minutes. If you drop your machine off at 9am (our pop-up start time), we will typically have it finished later that morning/early afternoon! This is dependent on how many small engines, but we always guarantee that it will be done by the end of the day!
